Product Introduction

A storage cabinet is easy to sell on a showroom floor. The real test comes six months later, when the doors have been opened a few thousand times and the shelves have been loaded and reloaded. The Double Door Storage Cabinet was developed around that later stage. The standard footprint is H1800 x W900 x D400 mm, built from cold-rolled steel in 0.6 mm to 1.0 mm thickness depending on the load. The matte powder coating is selected to resist moisture, scratches and many common industrial chemicals. It ships knocked down to reduce ocean freight volume, and standard colors include black, orange, blue and light grey.

Product Feature and Application

The cabinet is meant to keep things hidden, secure and out of the way. Solid double steel doors cover the contents completely, which helps a busy warehouse or workshop look less cluttered while protecting parts from dust, moisture and UV light.

Inside, four adjustable heavy-duty shelves create five storage tiers. The brackets are reinforced and can be moved to multiple positions, so the same cabinet can hold small parts bins, PPE, tools or bulkier equipment. A central key lock operates a three-point locking system at the top, bottom and center of the doors. That matters when the cabinet holds valuable inventory, sensitive documents or materials that should not be left accessible.

We see these cabinets most often in warehouse inventory storage, factory tool and PPE storage, janitorial supply closets, and office file storage. One practical point we usually raise before an order: measure the door opening and the route to the final position. A flat-packed cabinet is easier to move, but the assembled footprint still has to fit.

Production Details

The manufacturing difficulty with solid double-door cabinets is not the steel itself. It is door alignment and structural rigidity. A tall cabinet loaded with heavy items can twist or bow; if the frame is not square, the doors will scrape or fail to close tightly, and hinge adjustment alone will not fully correct it. Our production team assembles the main frame in welding jigs, checks squareness and door fit, and welds reinforced steel gussets at the bottom corners to help maintain rigidity.

Shelf deflection is the other issue we watch. Standard shelves can sag in the middle under heavy loads. Every shelf has a multi-fold hem on the front and rear edges to improve stiffness and help it stay flat in use. When specifying a cabinet, check two things rather than steel thickness alone: the load rating per shelf, and whether the doors still align after the cabinet is loaded.

Product Qualification

The figures below come from our internal factory inspection and sampling routine, not from a third-party certification. We test loaded cabinets rather than empty ones. Each adjustable shelf is loaded with 80 kg of solid steel weights, evenly distributed, and left for 72 hours; the check is for permanent deflection after unloading, not just temporary sag. The double doors are cycled 10,000 times to look for hinge fatigue and lock mechanism wear. The powder coating goes through a 500-hour salt spray test to check resistance to rust and peeling in humid conditions. For sea freight, flat-packed cartons are drop-tested from 80 cm to help ensure the steel edges arrive straight.

These tests are chosen to catch the failures we see most often in this product category. They do not replace a customer's own acceptance inspection, especially where local site conditions or unusual loads are involved.

Deliver, Shipping and Serving

Panels, doors, shelves and hardware are flat-packed into a compact carton, cutting ocean freight volume by about half compared with fully assembled units. A 40HQ container loads roughly 350 units. On site, two workers can assemble the cabinet in about 15 to 20 minutes using the included hardware kit and a screwdriver.

For distributors and large facilities, we supply keyed-alike lock systems so one master key can open every cabinet in the building. We also support custom RAL colors and OEM logo printing on the top surface. A 1.5% spare parts kit-hinges, lock cylinders and shelf clips-is included in every bulk order. Facility managers tend to value this more than it first appears: a missing hinge or shelf clip can take a whole cabinet out of service.
